Experiences - Lessons in Automatic Shrink Wrapping Machine Selection
- One of my customer a director in a reputed FMCG company shared his experience while selecting an automatic shrink wrapping machine. He told me that a machine vendor came to him and convinced him to buy an automatic shrink wrapping machine which he had sold to one of his competitor of the customer. The purchase manager in fear of losing out, immediately shared the info of the machine to the sales and marketing dept and eventually bought the same machine without deep diving into the specs, their own requirements etc. Once the machine came they found that they could not allocate the required space and also the production of that product was offline. This for me became my biggest lesson and retriated my strong belief and practise of first gathering all the details from the client, analysing the same and only then suggesting the correct automatic machine.
- Invest my time and synergies in identifying new applications of automatic shrink wrapping machines. Prepare an exhaustive case study justifying its usage and benefits. Prepare a cohesive report on the customer needs for the same and what pain points are being solved by the machine. Give this total in-depth knowledge to our entire marketing and sales teams so that they can take this forward to the correct target customers and represent it in a correct way to the total satisfaction of the customer. Thereby helping in making a positive impact to the application, industry and society in general.
