Picture this. It is ten days before Diwali. Orders are coming in faster than usual, the manufacturing line is running full, and then half of your packing team leaves for their village.
The products are ready. But they are not packed.
Finished goods pile up wherever there is a free corner, dispatch slips, and packaging becomes the bottleneck for the whole factory.
As a packaging machine manufacturer in India, we see this in almost every peak season. This guide shows how to prepare your festival season packaging, depend less on labour, and choose the right shrink wrapping or stretch wrapping machine.

Overtime is a weak plan. Workers take leave in peak season, and some do not return on time.
Packaging and dispatch are part of production. When packaging slows down, manufacturing slows down too.
Shrink wrapping packs products. Stretch wrapping secures pallets.
Rated machine speed is not real output. Plan with a margin.
Service, spare parts, and a product trial matter more than the lowest price.
Most manufacturers plan peak season the same way. We have enough machines, we have enough workers, and if the target gets tight, we will run overtime. On paper, it works.
In reality, festival season is when many workers go to their village or native place to be with family. Some take leave, some come back late, and some who did not get leave simply disappear. Replacing them in the middle of the rush is hard, because a new worker is not a fast worker. Training takes time, and the dispatch date does not move.
One delay then leads to another. A missed dispatch in peak season can cost you a customer you have served for years.
That is why your festival plan should not rest on workers and overtime alone. Build a packaging process that keeps running even when people are missing.
Packaging looks like the last step, so it gets the least attention. But it can stop the first step.
Manufacturing → Packaging → Finished Goods → Dispatch
When manufacturing is faster than packaging, finished products wait between the two. In a factory with limited floor space, they fill every free corner. Workers spend time shifting stock, dispatch gets harder to manage, and at some point, manufacturing has to slow down because there is nowhere left to keep the products.
A few good-quality shrink wrapping and stretch wrapping machines keep this flow smooth with fewer workers.
The two are often confused because both use film. They do different jobs. Shrink wrapping packs a product or a group of products. Stretch wrapping secures a pallet of finished goods.
| Machine Used | Application | Types Available |
|---|---|---|
| L-Sealer with Shrink Tunnel | Gift boxes, cartons, and other single products packed in bulk | Manual, semi-automatic, fully automatic |
| Web Sealer with Shrink Tunnel | Bundling cartons, bottles, and similar products into packs | Semi-automatic, automatic |
| Stretch Wrapping Machine | Palletised finished goods ready for dispatch | Pallet, coil, reel, box, and spiral stretch wrappers |
Two myths we hear often:
For gift boxes and cartons, read our L-Sealer with Shrink Tunnel for Diwali 2026 guide. For pallets, read How to Choose the Correct Stretch Wrapping Machine.
A machine’s rated speed is its best-case. Real output is lower because of loading time, film changes, product changes, breaks, and small stoppages.
Take a machine rated at 10 packs per minute. In an 8-hour shift, that is 10 × 60 × 8 = 4,800 packs on paper. At an assumed 75% efficiency, it is 3,600 packs. That gap of 1,200 packs is a missed dispatch if you promised 4,800.
The 75% figure is a planning assumption, not a guaranteed efficiency. Confirm real output with a product trial. Our L-Sealer guide shows the full calculation.
Most wrong machine choices come from five mistakes: underestimating peak production, looking only at price, not sharing the largest product size, trusting rated speed, and skipping a product trial. Here is how to avoid them.
We start with the application, not a catalogue. Tell the manufacturer your product dimensions, daily quantity, and required output, and plan for peak days, not normal days.
Add your product variations, the shrink film you use (for shrink wrapping), and your floor space and installation location.
Always share your largest product size. A machine that fits your smallest pack may not fit your biggest one.
Choose by your process, not by the highest automation available. Manual suits lower volume or frequently changing products. Semi-automatic cuts manual work while the operator still controls part of the process. Automatic suits high, steady volume. For web sealers, read Semi-Automatic vs Automatic Web Sealer: How to Actually Decide.
In peak season, some customers who contact us ask for a cheap machine so the festival work goes smoothly. We understand. But a cheap machine often needs more service, more maintenance, and more spare parts, and some cannot be repaired at all.
In our experience, traders who sell imported machines often cannot supply spare parts or service when the machine stops. A machine that stops in peak season stops your dispatch, and that costs more than the price difference.
Ask every supplier three questions: who will service the machine, where do the spare parts come from, and how fast can support reach you?
Our advice is to choose good quality and good service. We believe an Indian-made machine from a direct manufacturer gives the best result in the long run, because service and spare parts stay close.
AAREM Engineering is one of the trusted packaging machine manufacturers in India, manufacturing shrink wrapping and stretch wrapping machines in Mumbai since 2002, with 4,500+ installations and lifetime technical support with genuine spare parts.
Send us your product, and we test it on the proposed machine. We make a trial video of your product being packed. If you want, we show the full process live on a video call. And if you want, we send the packed product to your address, so you can check it yourself.
A problem found in a trial costs little. The same problem found in the middle of peak orders does not.
Festival season brings a wide range of products that require attractive, secure, and efficient packaging. Common applications include mithai and sweet boxes, premium chocolates, bakery products, festival kits, pooja essentials, cosmetics and skincare products, dates, and corporate gift sets.
Corporate gift hampers often combine snacks, decorative items, and branded merchandise in a single package. Shrink wrapping helps bundle these products securely, protect them from dust and moisture, and give the final pack a clean, professional appearance before it reaches corporate offices or customers.
Packaging requirements can vary significantly depending on the product, pack size, material, and production volume. AAREM packaging machines are also used across pharmaceuticals, FMCG, food, chemicals, e-commerce, and logistics applications. The right machine should therefore be selected based on the product and packaging requirement—not simply the industry it belongs to.

Choosing the right shrink wrapping machine based on your product, production volume, and packaging requirements can help prevent delays during peak season.
When festive orders are at their peak, choosing the right packaging machine is only part of the decision — choosing the right manufacturer matters just as much.
AAREM Engineering has been designing and manufacturing packaging machines since 2002, with 4,500+ machines installed across industries including pharmaceuticals, FMCG, food, chemicals, and e-commerce/logistics, with machines exported to 27+ countries.
As a direct manufacturer rather than a trader or reseller, AAREM works directly with customers to understand their product, packaging requirements, and production needs. Machines can be configured according to product size and film requirements, with components selected for reliable performance, energy efficiency, and low maintenance.
More importantly, support doesn’t end after installation. Lifetime technical support and genuine spare parts help keep your packaging line running reliably — especially when production is under pressure during the festive season.
Festival demand can put pressure on your packaging line when production volumes increase. Before the season begins, review your production quantity, packaging output, available labour, product sizes, and floor space.
Share your product dimensions, daily quantity, required output, and installation location with our engineering team. We can recommend a suitable packaging machine and, if required, conduct a product trial before you make a decision.

The primary difference between a shrink wrapping machine and a stretch wrapping machine lies in how the film is applied and the packaging objective. A shrink wrapping machine uses controlled heat to tightly wrap shrink film around individual products or bundles. In contrast, a stretch wrapping machine uses mechanical tension and the film’s elastic properties to wrap large, heavy, or palletized loads for stability and protection during storage and transportation.
L-Sealer with Shrink Tunnel is suitable for individual gift boxes, cartons, and similar products. For bundling multiple cartons, bottles, or similar products into a single pack, a Web Sealer with Shrink Tunnel may be more suitable. The final choice depends on product dimensions, packaging requirements, and required production output.
A stretch wrapping machine is designed to secure palletised finished goods using stretch film. Depending on the application, manufacturers can choose from pallet, coil, reel, box, and spiral stretch wrapping machines.
While a manual hot air gun can shrink film for tiny sample batches, it cannot compete with the speed and uniform consistency of an industrial shrink tunnel machine. Handheld guns frequently cause uneven shrinking, wrinkles, or burnt film due to manual variations.
A professional shrink tunnel utilizes a variable-speed conveyor and a high-efficiency hot air recirculation system to distribute balanced heat on all sides simultaneously, delivering flawless, tamper-evident, and retail-ready packaging at high volumes.
No. Stretch wrapping does not require adhesive or tape. The stretch film is mechanically stretched around the load, and its elastic properties create tension that helps the film cling to and secure the products.
A product trial allows you to test your actual product, dimensions, and packaging material on the proposed machine. It can identify application or packaging issues before installation, helping reduce the risk of problems during peak production.
