WEB SEALER WITH SHRINK TUNNEL MACHINE - MODELS

Semi-Automatic to Fully Automatic | 22+ Years of Manufacturing in Mumbai | Pan-India installation and support

A Web Sealer with Shrink Tunnel Machine is one of the most popular shrink packaging machines used across many industries. It is designed for both single product and multi-pack packaging — and is commonly known as Bull’s Eye Wrapping, because the film wraps around the pack and leaves an open circle at both ends.

The machine wraps products such as cartons, bottles, cans, jars, and other packaged items using LDPE shrink film. The shrink film holds the products together securely, protects them from dust and moisture, and keeps them stable during storage and transportation.

For products that require extra protection, the machine is also available with a Front Sealer and Side Sealer configuration, also known as a Partial U-Sealer Tunnel Machine. This design provides additional side sealing for stronger and more secure packaging.

How a Web Sealer with Shrink Tunnel Machine Works

Think of this Machine in Two Simple Parts: First, it Loosely Wraps (Cover) your Product in Plastic Film (LDPE Shrink Film) , and Second, it Uses Heat to Shrink That Plastic Tight.

Here is exactly how the process works from start to finish:

  1. Feeding the Product: Your Products (like Boxes, Jars, or Groups of Water Bottles) are Placed Onto the Machine’s Conveyor Belt.

  2. Wrapping the Film: The Machine Holds Two Rolls of LDPE Shrink Film (One on Top, One on the Bottom). As your Products Move Forward, they Push into the Film, Wrapping the Plastic Over and Under the Items.

  3. Sealing and Cutting: A Hot Metal Bar (The Sealing Jaw) Comes Down Right Behind the Product. It Cuts the Plastic from the Roll and Seals the Edges Together. Now, Your Product is Inside a Loose Plastic Sleeve.

  4. Entering the Shrink Tunnel: The Loosely Wrapped Product Moves Straight into the Heated Tunnel. Inside, Hot Air Blows evenly around the package. This heat causes the plastic to instantly shrink and grip the product tightly.

  5. Cooling and Finishing: As the package comes out of the tunnel, a fan blows cool air over it. This hardens the plastic immediately, creating a tight, secure pack that is ready to be picked up, stacked, or shipped.

Why this matters for you: Because the machine does all of this automatically in one smooth motion, it replaces manual wrapping, speeds up your production, and gives you a professional, tight pack every single time.

Industries and Applications

A web sealer with a shrink tunnel is the industry standard for secondary packaging and transit bundling. By replacing heavy corrugated master boxes with tough LDPE shrink film, manufacturers cut packaging costs while keeping products safe during transport.

Here are the main industries that rely on our web sealers:

1. Food & Beverage

  • What is packaged: Packaged drinking water, soft drink bottles, soda cans, juice boxes, glass jars, and ghee tins, etc.

  • How it helps: Bundles loose bottles and cans into sturdy 6, 12, or 24-packs (Bull’s Eye wrap). This keeps bottles standing upright and prevents rattling or breakage during delivery.

2. Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare

  • What is packaged: Syrup bottles, IV fluid packs, medicine cartons, and diagnostic kits, etc.

  • How it helps: Creates a dust-proof, moisture-sealed bundle that keeps medical supplies clean, sterile, and tamper-evident during warehouse storage.

3. Chemicals, Oils & Lubricants

  • What is packaged: Engine oil containers, industrial chemicals, paint tins, and cleaning liquid jars, etc.

  • How it helps: Locks heavy, high-volume liquid containers tightly together so they don’t tip, spill, or leak in long-distance transit.

4. FMCG & Personal Care

  • What is packaged: Soaps, cosmetics, shampoo bottles, household cleaners, and promotional “Buy 1 Get 1” combo packs, etc.

  • How it helps: Holds multi-item retail bundles together neatly without damaging the original product branding or packaging underneath.

5. Logistics & Manufacturing

  • What is packaged: Inner carton boxes, outer master cartons, floor tiles, and engineering spare parts, etc.

  • How it helps: Wraps heavy boxes and bulky materials into rigid, compact units that are easy to stack, store, and load onto delivery trucks.

6. Agro Chemicals & Pesticides

  • What is packaged: Liquid pesticide bottles, fertilizer bags, agro-chemical containers, and seed cartons, etc.

  • How it helps: Delivers heavy-duty, moisture-proof bundling that protects sensitive agricultural products from weather conditions and prevents hazardous leaks during rough rural transit.

7. Stationery, Hardware & Gift Packaging

  • What is packaged: Stationery big boxes, hand tools, door fittings, and bulk gift boxes, etc.

  • How it helps: Keeps loose or easily scuffed items securely grouped together. It prevents scratches, stops dust accumulation, and reduces pilferage in warehouses and retail shelves.

Web Sealer vs L-Sealer vs Shrink Tunnel Machine Alone

Not sure which machine is right for your packaging line? The easiest way to choose is to look at your final packaging goal: do you need heavy-duty transit protection, or a neat retail display?

Here is the simple difference between the three:

Feature Web Sealer With Shrink Tunnel L-Sealer With Shrink Tunnel Shrink Tunnel Machine Alone
Best For Heavy Bundling & Transit Packing Retail Display & Light Packaging Heat Shrinking Only
Final Look "Bull’s Eye" (Open At Two Ends) Fully Enclosed (Sealed On All Sides) Depends On How You Wrap It
Film Used Thick LDPE Film Thin POF Or PVC Film Any Shrink Film
Common Products Water Bottle Packs, Heavy Cartons, Jars Sweet Boxes, Cosmetics, Software Boxes Cannot Seal; Needs A Separate Sealer

Frequenty Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is a web sealer with shrink tunnel machine?

A web sealer with a shrink tunnel is a single, integrated packaging system that wraps products in LDPE shrink film, seals the film, and heat-shrinks it tight in one continuous motion. Instead of using two separate machines, this system automatically feeds the product through a sealing jaw and immediately into a heated tunnel, making it ideal for high-speed multi-pack bundling.

2. What is Bull's Eye Wrapping?

“Bull’s Eye” wrapping is the industry term for standard web sealing. Because the LDPE shrink film only wraps over and under the product, the heat-shrinking process leaves a round, open circle of film at both ends of the bundle. It provides excellent load stability for bottles and cartons while using significantly less film than a fully enclosed wrap.

3. What is a Partial U-Sealer Tunnel Machine?

A Partial U-Sealer is an upgraded web sealer that features both a front sealer and a side sealer. Instead of leaving both ends completely open (like a Bull’s Eye wrap), it seals the package on three sides. This provides extra film coverage, a tighter grip, and superior protection for products that require heavy-duty transit security.

4. What is the difference between Bull's Eye wrapping and a Partial U-Sealer?

The main difference is the side seal. Bull’s Eye wrapping only seals the top and bottom web, leaving two open ends—perfect for standard bundling and reducing film costs. A Partial U-Sealer adds a side-sealing mechanism, closing off an additional side for a much tighter, more enclosed package. Choose the U-Sealer when your products need maximum protection against dust, moisture, or shifting during transport.

5. What is the difference between a semi-automatic and a fully automatic web sealer?

Choose based on your speed requirements and labor availability.

  • Semi-Automatic: An operator must manually push the product into the sealing station. It is highly cost-effective and delivers 5–6 packs per minute.

  • Fully Automatic: Features motorized infeeds, HMI touchscreens, and automatic sensors. It eliminates manual feeding and can handle up to 15 packs per minute with longer heat chambers.

6. What is a collator in a shrink wrapping line?

A collator is an automated grouping system. It automatically arranges loose, individual products (like water bottles or cans) into a specific grid or matrix (such as a 2×3 or 3×4 pack) right before they enter the sealer. This completely eliminates manual grouping, ensuring perfect, high-speed multi-packs in one continuous operation.

7. Which shrink film does a web sealer use?

All Aarem web sealers are designed to run LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) shrink film rolls. LDPE is the industry standard for transit bundling because it is incredibly strong, puncture-resistant, and handles heavy loads (like water bottle packs) much better and at a lower cost than POF or PVC films.

8. What is the maximum product size?

Our standard models easily handle products up to 450 × 300 × 300 mm, or up to 450 × 300 × 380 mm (which is perfect for 2-litre bottles). However, for larger cartons or specific collator matrices, we custom-build the machine and tunnel chamber to fit your exact dimensions without any size limits.

9. Can the machine be customised for my product?

Yes, absolutely. We custom-build the entire machine to match your exact production needs. We customize the tunnel chamber length, the number of hot-air blowers, conveyor inputs/outputs, the collator grouping matrix, and the PLC controls. We ensure the machine fits your product, not the other way around.
